Drayton Community Infant School

Welcome

A very warm welcome to Drayton Community Infant School. We are part of the Inclusive Schools Trust, a small group of schools working together across Norwich.

We are a friendly and child-centred infant school based in Drayton, to the west of the city of Norwich.  We offer places for children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2.

In recent years, Drayton has developed a partnership with Nightingale Infant and Nursery School; a smaller infant school close by. Nightingale offers places in their Nursery from 2 years old, for children in the Drayton and Taverham area. Many of the children attending the Nursery move onto the main school at Nightingale or move across to Drayton Infants. You can find out more information on Nightingale’s website.

From 2022, a shared senior leadership team has been established across the schools, providing support, challenge and further opportunities for children, parents and staff. This has been recognised as a strength in Nightingale’s Ofsted inspection in May 2023, to bring about rapid school improvement.

‘Leaders have successfully steered the school through a period of significant change. Trustees have developed a unique partnership leadership model where leaders work across pairs of schools. This has created capacity and ensured significant improvements at Nightingale Infant and Nursery School.’  Ofsted May 2023

We understand how important choosing the right school for your child is.

Drayton Infants is a place where children love to learn.  Our staff team are committed to providing the very best education for all children, ensuring that every child has the same high-quality opportunities.

We are a school that recognises every child is different, that they come from different starting points and have different challenges on their journey.  We want all our children to have a passion for learning and embed opportunities to develop a growth mindset.

Our aim is for all children to leave for the next stage in their education resilient, independent and curious learners.

We constantly strive to ensure that our curriculum is broad, balanced and challenging and that it is adapted to meet the needs of all children.

I am sure you will find the information on our website useful, and it will give you a flavour of the school.  We always welcome anyone wishing to visit our school so you can see the amazing things happening in classrooms and in our extensive outdoor area.

We look forward to meeting you.
